From April 21st to April 24th, Chen Hong, director of the Hainan Institute of Tropical Oceanography in the South China Sea, led the members of the Xisha scientific expedition team to the Yongle Islands for a field inspection.

With the sound of "woo woo" from the cruise ship, 12 members of the scientific research team took the "Changle Princess" cruise ship to the Yongle Islands.

After a night of rushing around at sea, we arrived at Yagong Island in the early morning of April 22. The team members planted 70 mangroves prepared in advance along the coast of Yagong Island.

On April 23, the scientific research team snorkeled to the surrounding waters of Quanfu Island to investigate the growth of corals and found that the growth of corals was in good condition. On the same day, we also successfully planted a batch of corals not far away!

This Xisha scientific expedition trip was full of rewards. We have successfully planted mangroves on Yagong Island, optimized the cultivation methods of mangroves; explored new measures for island greening; by examining the growth of corals in Yongle Islands, we have formed a fixed technology for restoring coral reefs.

The clouds set off by the sunset are like a map of China. We are small and we are doing seemingly small things on the vast territory of the motherland. The scientific research team left footprints on the beaches of the islands. With full harvest, we ended this short but meaningful expedition to Xisha.
